Course Duration: 51 Minutes | Difficulty Level: 2
This piece was originally written to represent Duck Dunn in Giants of Bass, a book which celebrated the contributions of 26 of the world’s most influential bass players. As a result, it features a number of elements that are common to Duck’s playing, such as a strong use of chord tones, the inclusion of additional scale tones like the sixth, and the use of walking bass figures to smooth the transitions between chords. Duck was a master of finding the right part for a song, and that is very much the aim with this piece: although there are certainly some challenging elements, the line remains supportive throughout.
